Happily Busy December

We have had such a fun December.  I will be posting pictures from our recent exploits soon, but I wanted to talk about my birthday.

My birthday was on the 15th, and it was such an incredible day.  I would even venture so far as to say it was one of the best birthdays I’ve had in a long time.  It used to matter to me how much attention I got from everyone on my birthday, but it’s different now that I’m more grown up.  I did appreciate all the friends who did wish me a happy birthday.  Thanks to Facebook, that wasn’t a small number either.  🙂

What made my day awesome was my family.  Spencer was a total Sweetheart that day, which up until that seemed like is rare (I think we’ve discovered a balance for us, but that’s another story).  Spencer even took me on a lunch date to McDonalds.  He was so happy to be there and to play.  We even had a couple friends there to make it better.

That evening, when Adam came home, we went over to my parent’s house and opened my presents.  We did it there so Adam and I could leave Spencer and have a dinner date.  My gifts really told me how much my family loves me and cares about my interests and happiness.  It was a wonderful time.

Adam then took me out to dinner at one of our new favorite places.  While we were there a friend of the family came in and saw us.  In chatting with us, they discovered it was my birthday, and they wished me a happy one and went on to their table.  We enjoyed our meal, and asked for the check only to discover that our friends had paid for it.

I felt so loved and so appreciated on my birthday.  Thank you to everyone who made it such a special day for me.
